The Four Bears – Which are you?

I was watching an episode of NAT GEO WILD and observed something very interesting. There were four bears; each bear had a unique way of fishing for salmon. So, I am going to name the bears according their different fishing styles.

The White Collar Bear- a person who performs professional, managerial, or administrative work.

The Apprentice Bear – a person who learns a job or skill by working for a fixed period of time for someone who is very good at that job or skill.

The Blue Collar Bear – a person whose job requires manual labor.

The Opportunist Bear – a person who takes advantage of any opportunity to achieve an end, often with no regard for principles or consequences.

I named the 1st bear White Collar because he was a skilled and professional fisherman and/or bear. This particular bear would stand at the top of the riverbank and wait for the salmon to jump up out of the water and then catch the salmon in his mouth while they were airborne. The salmon practically jumped into his mouth.

I named the 2nd bear Apprentice because he watched and learned from the skilled and professional bear and began to catch his salmon in the same manner. He had a great teacher!

I named the 3rd bear Blue Collar because this bear would attempt to catch salmon swimming around in the river by walking, running and jumping around in the river with a hit and miss success rate.

I named the 4th bear Opportunist because this bear would wait until another bear had caught a salmon in his mouth and then pick a fight with that bear. When the bear with the salmon in mouth would growl and fight back, it would drop the salmon and the opportunist would grab the salmon for himself. “To the victor goes the spoils”, or should we say salmon.
